We have been retained by an MNC in the Agricultural Equipment Sector to search an

AGM ( Compensation and HR Processes)

A new initiative in the “shared services concept for delivery of HR services”


Designation : Assistant General Manager – Compensation and HR Processes

Location : Pune



Key Responsibility Area :

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Total Rewards strategy for all units in India (tractor business & technology center). The person will also be responsible for developing, updating and maintaining the integrity of HR processes. As part of this responsibility, the person will be responsible for ensuring the following :

I. Compensation & Benefits responsibility :
A. Work with the Comp & Ben team and India leadership to define the Total Rewards strategy for India. Liaise closely with global team members to assimilate and spearhead global initiatives in the region; conversely, to influence global thinking and policy direction so as to reflect imperatives of the region.
B. Closely monitor compensation trends, practices and help business take proactive steps. Liaise closely with industry peer groups and assimilate emerging C&B trends and practices so as to explore potential fit with organization’s existing and anticipated business / people challenges.
C. Represent the compensation benchmarking forums.
D. Roll out annual compensation survey -
a. Work with HR consulting firms and global Comp & Ben team to plan the survey timelines and deliverables.
b. Determine comparator organizations/ industries for each Customer Group/ Division.
c. Identify benchmark jobs across all levels.
d. Review survey results and analysis.
e. Roll out annual compensation review and ongoing pay adjustments.
f. The incumbent will be expected to deal independently with business
heads, and the HR relationship and recruitment teams, to present market data and rewards changes to them.
E. Offer potential C&B design solutions for optimizing investments in salaries and benefits.
F. Provide analytics to improve quality of compensation decisions.
G. Design and develop tools to assist Managers in compensation decisions.
H. Help prepare compensation budgets.
I. Direct preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits, compensation, and HR policies.


II. HR Process responsibility :

a. Be the owner of the Human Resources Information system (SAP HR) and ensure integrity of HR data.
b. Develop methods to improve employment policies, processes, and practices, and recommend changes to management.
c. Work with HR operations team to develop a process orientation and constantly look at improving process efficiencies. To do this, the person will be expected to use tools like Lean, Kaizen and Six Sigma.
d. Periodically, audit HR processes and improve them.
e. Conduct Employee Satisfaction Survey or any other survey that the India management requests for. As part of this responsibility, the person will help communicate the ESS findings and work with Unit leadership & HR to implement action plans. The person will also track the progress of the action plans.


Reports to : Country HR Head



Reportees : Team size – 3 (Comp & Ben – 1, HR Information systems – 2)

Candidate profile :
 Relevant Experience: 8 to 10 yrs.
 Preferably an MBA.
 Understanding of IT, ITES and manufacturing (Auto) industry.
 Experience with Market benchmarking surveys and the technical
aspects of benchmarking.
 Good presentation and oral and written communication skills.
 Expert level knowledge of Ms Excel software.



Travel : Minimal.
