Job Profile

The Contracts Manager supports business sales, operation and functional organizations across the business divisions . His functional responsibilities include administration, consulting and/or negotiation of project/service contracts with external customers, development and/or implementation of contract programs, policies and processes. This entails working closely with marketing and sales, operation, functions and business management to structure contracts consistent with business objectives.


The CM is responsible for consulting, structuring, drafting and negotiation of non-standard project/service contracts with external customers. He/she will also develop and/or implement policies and processes.
By providing professional advices on contract drafting and making good judgments during contract negotiations with speed, knowledge and creativity, the CM will help conclude contracts but at the same time prevent from being exposed to unnecessary contract and/or legal risks.

The CM will work closely with business teams, other functions, including the legal counsel, as well as external customers. The objectives of increasing customers' orders, improving company's profitability and reducing/avoiding business risk require the CM to:

- increase customer respect and trust by providing creative, customer focused and cost effective contract solutions that meet customers' legitimate business needs,
- improve sales force efficiency by taking ownership of contract negotiation process and reducing turn around time for contract drafting, and
- increase company's profitability by providing strong risk management leadership.


The CM will also be able to:

- identify and minimize contractual issues and commercial risks

- implement risk assessment and contract management according to policies and processes

- build contract database and provide timely reports on contract metrics and complex legal issues

- ensure compliance with business practices and code of conduct

- provide contract management training as required

- travel occasionally as required

- Sound knowledge and experience in review/analysis of contract terms & conditions, contract administration practices, and Indian Contract Law.

- Understanding of laws and regulations governing business practice in India.

- Understanding of financial concepts (cash flow, revenue recognition, etc) and impact of contract terms on those concepts

-Outstanding ability to negotiate and represent best interests without being adversarial
