We have been retained by an MNC in the Engineering and Automation Sector to search a :



Job Title Sales Manager – Residential Vertical

Location: Gurgaon


Work Experience :



Should have experience of 4-6 years in Sales and Marketing in a related industry i.e. Consumer Electronics (at least 3 years should have been as Territory/ Regional Sales responsibility).


Previous work experience in developing a channel relationship in new geographies will be an added advantage.


Educational Background



Degree preferably in Electronics with a degree/diploma in Marketing from a well-regarded institution

Job Specifications


Reporting to the Manager - Strategic Initiatives, the Sales Manager – Residential has an overall responsibility for delivering sales and revenue growth, and meeting gross margin targets for the Consumer Electronics products (Home Solution & Intrusion Products) through branches, dealers, distributors and direct sales. You will need to design and execute sales plans for development of new markets and segments and oversee the smooth implementation of these, through effective management of the dealer sales staff.


Major responsibilities

Prepare the monthly sales plan for products, setting stretch targets for each product/ brand/ market/ sales channel, pricing and projected margins, marketing communication plans required and weekly plan for achievement of targets. Once approved and accepted, break-down targets by channel.


Ensure the achievement of sales and gross margin targets as set out in the business plan, by constantly monitoring all market segments, motivating channel sales staff, and taking timely action in terms of pricing policy or promotion campaigns. Report to Sales Leadership team on achievement against targets in a regular and timely fashion, and keep him informed on tactical action being taken in different markets/ segments.


Keep abreast of developments in the industry, as well as other competing channels from other industries and provide strategic inputs to the management.


Determine the feasibility of adding new brands/products and entering new markets in order to achieve/ surpass targets.


Identify, review and appoint new dealers and distributors. Conduct a Monthly/ Quarterly/ Annual review of dealer performance in order to renew/ cancel contracts or agreements.


Review and finalise pricing of all items in co-ordination with Product Marketing and obtain approval from Sales Leadership team. Monitor adherence to pricing policy by all channel sales staff. Approve discounts to strategic and bulk customers within policy guidelines.


Ensure receivables are within acceptable limits by reviewing and monitoring the size and quality of the debtors. Monitor the collection of out standings and ensure collection targets are met.


Liaise and co-ordinate with the Marketing Communication and Product Marketing team on brand management, promotion campaigns, acquisition and analysis of competitive information, market research, etc. Work jointly with them to design dealer and consumer campaigns, develop brand strategies, and monitor brand performance.


Co-ordinate with the Supply Chain team on procurement and stock availability, provide reliable and timely sales forecasts so that the supply chain can be managed well.


Provide feedback to and co-ordinate with the Technical department on features of competitive products, consumer feedback on the products, installation and after sales support.


Identify the training and development needs of all channel staff and coordinate with Training team to develop content and schedule to conduct training.
