We have been retained by an MNC in the Engineering and Automation Sector to search a : Marketing Manager – India

The candidate should have a strong exposure to Corporate planning
Qualification: BE+ MBA, 5-12 years exp.

Sensing and Control (S&C) is a $900-million global strategic business of my client. S&C is one of the world's leading suppliers of sensors, switches, machine safeguarding and other devices for a variety of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) applications in the automotive, aviation, medical, information technology, consumer appliance and industrial businesses.
The incumbent will provide primary marketing support across India. As a member of both the Asia Pacific Marketing team and the India sales team, the incumbent will be responsible for
(1) Working with the regional sales team to develop winning strategies and tactics to meet growth, revenue and operating income objectives; and

(2) working with the regional marketing director for Asia Pacific, conduct deeper market segment analysis on an as needed basis to support overall S&C strategy development.

Specific job duties include:

1. Regional Customer Marketing. Provide marketing support to India; translating high level strategies into regional specific action oriented business plans. Duties may include:

• Partner with the Asia Pacific strategic planning project leader to coordinate annual STRAP development and ensure that market segment and regional strategies for India are tightly aligned.
• Develop regionally specific product strategies in line with the overall strategic plan for S&C and the appropriate market segments.
• Provide tools, processes, and tactics that will help define and implement the regional product line strategies.
• Provide support for New Product Introductions (NPI) to ensure customer needs are clear and considered in final product development; and a well developed launch plan is created
• Work with the regional Sales and Product Managers to develop regionally specific customer strategies and regionally appropriate value propositions.
• Coordinate Marketing Communications to ensure best practices are used for successful product launches and customer campaigns.

2. Strategic Marketing. Work with the Regional Marketing Director for Asia Pacific to develop sound business strategies for the business in critical market segments as needed/assigned; and regional growth strategies.

• As part of the overall S&C strategy development process, develop market segment and regional business plans for India.
• Conduct regional customer and market analysis to develop a thorough understanding of the target industries and customer needs. Provide feedback to the right Customer Marketing leader for implementation by the line of business (LOB).
• Help the organization maintain visibility into regional trends/big picture.
• Support the business in Phase 0 market assessment of new product development, including financial analysis and scenario analyses to build accurate revenue, margin and profit projects for the new market.
• Support M&A work as assigned.

3. Marketing Functional Excellence. Serve as consultant to the business to ensure best practices are utilized in all areas of Marketing including:

• Strategy development
• Value proposition development
• Market analysis
• Competitive Intelligence and analysis
• Product life cycle model development
• Pricing strategies and execution
• Marketing Communications
• Product launches
Requirements:
• Five or more year’s business experience – Corporate, Business Development, Strategic Marketing and/or Product Management roles working with a diverse range of Strategic and Tactical Marketing tools, processes and methodologies.
• Education: MBA with solid analytical and marketing skills; technical background/experience or undergraduate degree preferred.
• A consistent track record of significant contributions to the development of marketing strategies and tactics meeting/exceeding growth, revenue and operating income objectives.
• Highly effective in ability to influence without authority; forming and pulling teams together; and obtaining alignment and support within a global, matrix organization.
• Must have regional experience across India – ideally with a large and highly complex product line supplied to a variety of markets through both direct and indirect sales channels.
• Languages – must be proficient in English
• Proven successful at training and communicating – both internally and externally – Marketing Strategy and Change.
• Confident, competent and credible as a key supporting resource for translating High Level Marketing Strategies into Action Oriented Business Plans.
• Successful at conducting deep, market segment analysis to identify critical market growth opportunities.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity working within a cross functional team environment and communicating with multiple constituents within a global organization.
• Highly effective interfacing, communicating and influencing Customers, Sales and Channel Partners.
• Computer Literacy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Product Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint); project management, data-base management and on-line research tools and software.
