We have been retained by an Auto Component Manufacturing MNC, headquartered in USA , planning to enter India. They search a



POSITION: General Manager, India


PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Coordinate all business activities including management of Indian subsidiary in accordance with Company goals as they relate to Indian customers and their transplant operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage, organize, and direct all activities as they pertain to business planning, interpreting, organizing, project execution, and business in India.
Sales and sales management for all Indian customers with the specific intent of growth and customer service.
Supervise India staff, including hiring, evaluating performance, and exercising discipline as outlined by Company profiles.
Manage and monitor all costs and schedules of the assigned programs, including customer and reporting.
Initiate RFQ’s from customer requests and obtain cost summaries via interface with financial departments to develop selling price recommendations.
Support to management, operations, and sales/engineering in support of current and ongoing business.
Recommend and/or implement strategic changes in staffing, present and future products and processes.
Make sure new designs utilize parts, methods, and practices which are practical and realistic in production.
Coordination with the Asian Business Team on communication and pursuit of business in other Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, etc. as time permits.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Support Purchasing team in developing a quality and trusting supplier base (as needed) in India and other Asian countries.
Support legal and technical teams in the defense of intellectual property as it relates to India.
Support technical groups through research and reporting of local Indian technology and R&D.
Avoid company politics and promote cooperation and teamwork for the common good of all employees across all departments.
POSITION DEMANDS:



Indian National
High level of written communication skills in both Indian and English used internally and externally.
Ability to develop others through support, managing, coaching, delegating, and personal leadership.
Fiscal responsibility. Spending company money as if it were one’s own in a conservative but effective manner.
Entrepreneurial spirit.
Minimum of 6 years experience in the U.S.A. working with or for an American company in the automotive manufacturing or supply industry.
Engineering degree or extreme ability to understand and/or rationalize the technical aspect of the product, processes and technologies.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:



This position reports to the General Manager of Korea.
Interacts internally with Program Management, Quality Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Chemical and Electrical departments.
Staff supervision within India and indirectly within Corporation.
